We have all been there. Thank sinking feeling when you realize you have made an awful mistake. It happened to me only yesterday, so I decided to make this the subject of this week’s newsletter. It can be hard to admit to yourself if you consider yourself a perfectionist or someone with good attention to detail. But of course, we have ALL made mistakes. It’s called human error for a reason.
I remember years ago when I was a medical secretary I dropped a pile of patients charts onto the dictation transcription machine and yes you guessed it hit the delete button and wiped out a big chunk of the tape.
Another time when I was a Buying Administrator I distributed an item of clothing to hundreds of stores when we had agreed as a team to change the price and hold off on distributing. The second I hit the button, I realized what I had done. I still remember turning around to my Merchandise Controller to deliver the bad news.
I would love to hear your horror stories in the comments!
Thankfully, the other 99.9% of the time things run pretty smoothly.
So here are my top tips when you make a mistake
